Room for improvement

I bought this thermostat as a more accurate and precise alternative to other similar thermostats like the BN-LINK digital thermostat with LED display which is really good BUT the control range is limited. full 2 degrees. IE: Set to 80f and the temp drops to 78f before turning on the heater. This comfytemp thermostat is a very good and more accurate alternative, but there is a lot of room for improvement.1. The LCD has nice big numbers and a very good backlight BUT the backlight only comes on when programming, then the light turns off making it difficult to see the monitor from that point on. I prefer that the LCD stays lit and visible 24/7. . (see photo)2. No indication that heating or cooling is active. Unlike other thermostats, there is no indicator light or icon on the display to show that the outlet has power.3. The alarm is preset and there is no way to disable or program the alarm. This can get very annoying. IE: Turn on the system and the alarm will sound until the set temperature is within the alarm limits. Depending on the application, this can lead to the alarm sounding for a long time until the desired temperature is reached. I have already disabled the alarm with a simple internal modification as I don't even need the alarm for my application and it can be easily changed by adding an alarm disable switch. This is a very good thermostat that is programmable to 1/10th of a degree which is absolutely great for precise environmental control of plants or animals BUT it lacks some of the more user friendly ones. Features like a well-lit display and a programmable alarm area. Kind regards; Burn.
