Review on Monroe 58643 Adjust Shock Absorber by Josh Boii

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for towing!: shock absorbers, struts and suspension

NOTE. It includes 2 shock absorbers, you just have to add one of them to your cart to get 2 shock absorbers, they are SOLD by STEAM. That being said I installed them on my 05 f150 to replace the stock mufflers at 107k miles. Not much has changed in normal no-load driving, except better on bumpy roads, but not harsher. I'd say it's more like how an OEM would drive if it were new. Now they excel if you throw a pendant on their back. NO SAGS AT ALL! My trailer used to "level" my truck when hooked up, now with the trailer on the back of the truck you can't even tell it's loose. Also, when towing, the trailer no longer bounces the rear of the pickup when going over bumps, it's so solid you could swear there wasn't even a trailer in the back. Easy to install, don't even need to take tires. out of. Simply place the jack under the rear FRAME of the truck (do not jack under the rear differential!). Loosen the bottom shock bolt, then the top bolt and remove the old shock. Unscrew the top of the new shock, but do not tighten yet. Now raise the truck so that the suspension is unloaded (i.e. hanging on the side you are working on). Lift it up until the hole for the lower shock bolt is aligned. Tighten the top and bottom, and then lower the carriage. Rinse and repeat on the other side, then enjoy the ride!
