I ordered 6 of these (I had to drill 64 holes 1-1/2 inch deep) and luckily for me they only allowed 2 at a time. The first split tip at the base of the first hole. The second broke the tip on the second hole. The 2nd bit had also drilled 2 smaller holes (cut off 2 screws and had to redrill the holes with a different brand). Both bits were crooked and had noticeable runout. You will see many Dewalt tools in my shop and I have always had excellent service from all of them but not so with these bits. Please note that I have never exceeded the recommended RPM or applied much pressure to these bits. I went to the local hardware store and bought some Vermont American and Irwin Beats (only 2 brands they sold). The Vermont American, which cost about a third the cost of a Dewalt bit, is still going strong. I've also had good results with Irwin bits. So here I have very good results with two other brands that each cost less than half what I paid for Dewalt beats. What should I think? I think quality control is out the window.
