This bumper protector is nothing special and doesn't quite fit the CX-5. But it's easy enough to install and malleable enough that you can bend it to fit the contour of the bumper. Comes with two rolls of strong double-sided tape. (You'll have to apply the tape yourself.) And it seems to me - time will tell - that this is fully compatible with the CX-5's power tailgate. As long as you position it closer to the outer edge of the bumper, the underside of the tailgate doesn't appear to be touching the skid plate at all. In between, probably at least a few millimeters.
