Review on Channellock 927T Universal Tip 5 Tips by Christopher Wiggins

Tip holes are not square

I buy these to remove the outer 1 inch C clip. I had to use 90 degree tips. After installing them I noticed that they are not parallel but one is very inclined towards the other. see drawing. I moved the tips from side to side with no change. Also, the curved nib holder did not drill smoothly, requiring pliers to remove the original nib. I rarely use these types of instruments, but I've always wanted one, so there was a debate about cheap versus good brand names. I was able to remove the C-clip but that was a problem because it hit a hard surface on the angled ends making it harder than it should be. I will return these and may choose a different brand. I can go with pliers, as opposed to one that requires replacement tips. You must use the hex wrench that comes with the kit. The good thing about these pliers is that they require the use of a flap to convert them inside out - this means that when you squeeze the handle, the outer clamp is stretched and the inner clamp is compressed. This is a good feature.
