Best snap ring pliers for the money

Brilliant design by Channellock engineers. I know these snap ring pliers will last a lifetime and are made in the USA. I wanted to spend less and get one of the kits of 4 different snap ring pliers for $5 less. I'm glad it didn't sink. Circlip pliers have small tips that bend easily when made from inferior materials. I am confident that Channellock Circlip Pliers will not bend as they are made from the finest materials. Don't waste your money on a cheaper brand and buy the best one.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Works great, shifter soft

Works well but be careful with the mechanism. This helps gently engage the lever by gently squeezing the pliers. After setting the right mode, it works fine. Those who get into trouble or break should press the lever without even moving their jaws. One star off for no feather. You may need to tighten the center screw a little to eliminate the play. My jaws were very loose. I also noticed that the pins were slightly misaligned and didn't line up quite right. Addendum: Since the spring was…

This is the best tool for this task.

I bought these to fix a broken Kitchenaid mixer. It's a better tool than needed for the job, but it was hard to know which pliers would fit exactly (several reviews of circlip pliers on Revain start with "doesn't fit my KA mixer"). I chose them because it seemed likely that at least one of the replacement tips would fit. The little ones, yes. You may not see much use for me, so these are probably the last pliers I'll ever need. They are well made and the switch that toggles them inside out is…

Tip holes are not square

I buy these to remove the outer 1 inch C clip. I had to use 90 degree tips. After installing them I noticed that they are not parallel but one is very inclined towards the other. see drawing. I moved the tips from side to side with no change. Also, the curved nib holder did not drill smoothly, requiring pliers to remove the original nib. I rarely use these types of instruments, but I've always wanted one, so there was a debate about cheap versus good brand names. I was able to remove the C-clip

  • High price

Great tool, versatile and inexpensive.

In the photo there is a 6 mm locking ring. If anyone has ever tried to remove and install a ring of this size (SMALL), they know that it will most likely be found by a vacuum cleaner after it has flown somewhere in the room. These are GREAT circlip pliers on many levels. First, there are several different nib sizes, as well as straight and 90 degree nibs. They're easily swapped out with the included Allen key, and they all fit in a small pouch to keep them together. The spring tension is just…

There's nothing like the right tool

The job I was working on involved a 2 1/4" external snap ring, and the 8" snap ring pliers I had (not Channellock) , just didn't work. to the task. Their tips were too small to hold the ring and the pliers themselves were too weak to handle the large locking ring. After several failed attempts, I finally decided on a better circlip pliers. I was initially put off by the price of these 10" channellocks, but once I got my hands on them and put them to use I thought they were worth it. They snap…

Good tool, good value for money

This is a good quality tool and well worth the money. The shifting mechanism (inside-out) works well, and I like the convenience of just sliding the lever instead of rotating the axle. The pins are hard and strong and I don't see them deforming when used on a loose (not rusted or corroded) clip with properly sized holes. If this is the case, the tool is not being used for its intended purpose. Small metal pins are not designed to break stuck clips. If you don't want to use many other methods to
