Ideal laptop HUB with small SSD to connect HDD

Bought two. Need a hub to connect a USB hard drive to a laptop with a tiny SSD. Uses a hinge and hardware to connect the hub and hard drive to the laptop cover. The upside is that the hub is thin and works. A surprise was the ability to connect a 5V mobile power cord to power the HUB when more than one hard drive is connected. The downside is the placement of the power connector at the end of the HUB next to the patch cord. hub works. This is NOT a Type-C connector (input or output ports) that will work with the device I'm using.
