Even better mousetrap after 10 years
This is my second wall chamberlain and it is better than the first. It's very quiet and compact. It is no more difficult to install than a traditional overhead block. But the sheer packaging of a wall mount versus a ceiling mount isn't a problem for a boutique-style garage. The DC motor sounds like it's working hard when you're up close, but that's not a problem. My last device was 10 years old and sounded the same. Be sure to attach the small motor bottom bracket to the wall studs or shear wall as there is a lot of force on it during operation.
