One morning I heard a knock and found several buzzards in the backyard pecking at the sliding glass doors. When I quickly checked my pulse, I realized they weren't here for me. Wife didn't cook so...wrong house? It turns out they think there are other buzzards in the pane of glass. I drove them away but they kept coming back. And they are dirty. This IR switch was just what I needed. I didn't want to hurt the birds so I decided to use this IR switch to create a motion activated sprayer. It has adjustable pots for sensitivity and duration, and now when the critters come onto my porch, they get sprayed with water for about 1 or 2 seconds until they leave. I love that I can adjust the spray duration. . Most of the switches available for 12-24v can't be set in 30 seconds which is way more than I need. This one goes to a second, which is what I need. You can use it to light up a closet or safe and set the time to any duration. It's very delicate and I've seen it scare away everything from squirrels to raccoons to buzzards. But I also like that you can turn the sensitivity down if you maybe want to spray a dog or even things the size of a mother-in-law. It's not waterproof by any means, but it was easy to insulate it against the elements with some silicone. It has rained on me many times with no problems. The back panel is easily removed, allowing you to adjust the sensitivity and duration of the PCB potentiometers with a small screwdriver. and duration.+ High sensitivity - effective even on small objects like birds.+ Can reduce duration to one second, much shorter than any other switch.+ Perfect for any trigger from 12V to 24V.+ Flat ends allow use of cable ties, or there are screw holes in the tiny side fenders.
