I chose this to replace the (older) non-locking Fox float with a Trek Fuel 90. This is an XC type, not a downhill bike. The shock came and the package was good, the delivery was good, no problem. I was impressed with the shock and was looking forward to locking it up and swapping out the worn Fox shock. However, I was quick to point out that there will be no easy swap. Running through the upper and lower shocks, the shocks are just a few millimeters wider. Finally, I checked out the Fox shock mount but couldn't figure out how to reuse it, so instead I removed the mount from the new shock, which consisted of two plastic rings and an aluminum boss. This fitting is too long so I used a grinder to cut off a few millimeters from each side and that was all it took. Be sure to remove the armature from the damper as this process will heat up the armature. After that light shave, it's settled in and seems to be working pretty well. It is important to read how to set this damper and understand the two cameras. So far it has been very nice to have a lockout on climbs. no more jumping.
