Almost perfect replacement for Fox Float.

I chose this to replace the (older) non-locking Fox float with a Trek Fuel 90. This is an XC type, not a downhill bike. The shock came and the package was good, the delivery was good, no problem. I was impressed with the shock and was looking forward to locking it up and swapping out the worn Fox shock. However, I was quick to point out that there will be no easy swap. Running through the upper and lower shocks, the shocks are just a few millimeters wider. Finally, I checked out the Fox shock…

2010 Specialized's patented shock absorber problem fixed!

I ride a 2010 Specialized Epic Comp 29 and recently the factory shock snapped at one of the frame mount points and started leaking oil. I thought it's okay, I drive it hard and in 10 years I'll just replace it. NOT CORRECT! I found out that Specialized is notorious for making their own shocks with weird mounts and custom sizes! Everywhere I went, including the foxes themselves, they told me I was unlucky. Not wanting to spend more than $2,000 for a replacement and an otherwise great bike I…

The best beat on the dollar.

I wouldn't put this on my carbon Bronson but it certainly gave my old full suspension bike a second life. I've used pretty much every brand name shock and nothing beats this as an alternative to a rebuilt or used shock on an aging full suspension bike. Of course, if you have a very expensive rear shock that you spent over $500 on (or an expensive, expensive bike) you probably aren't going to spend money on a rebuild. On the other hand, if your bike comes with a base Rockshox, Manitou, spring…

A great alternative to big brands (cheap prices!).

A little background: My bike is the amazing Gary Fisher Sugar 1 and I ride in the mountains of Arizona. When the stock shock (Cane Creek Cloud Nine) started having issues that required a complete factory rebuild, I did a little research and found that I could purchase this shock for less than the cost of that rebuild. Encouraged by Revain's return policy, I jumped at the chance and ordered one. First impressions were that the shock looked great and felt like a quality kit. Installation was…

Great price and fantastic performance

I needed to replace the rear shock on my 2013 Salsa Spearfish and found DNM while researching Revain who was looking for one of the $300 brand name shocks. Considering the price, I was a bit worried about durability and performance until reading some of the reviews. In the interest of science, I decided to try it and I'm glad I did! The Salsa has always been a little soft on the back, absorbing power and making the bike less than efficient for cross-country racing. Higher pressure might have…
