Gun case locks compared

From left to rightMain lock 1535DMain lock 653DORIA Combination lockMain lock 140TI I've been looking for a solution for locking the case with guns and ammunition for a long time. The main purpose is to prevent children from accessing the magazine and bullets. I have a biometric safe for the gun itself. Factors that influenced my decision include perceived security, build quality, and ease of locking/unlocking. I'm sure all these locks can be picked somehow. I will not bother anyone with a knife. However, I leaned against the hardened steel bracket. The first lock I bought was the Master Lock 140T. A good choice if you can safely protect the physical keys. First, I put the keys in my biometric safe. The problem is that someone who can open the safe can immediately unlock the suitcases. Hiding the key somewhere else is out of the question for me, because children love things that adults think are hidden. But if you can keep the key safe, the lock is small but very strong. The second lock I bought was an ORIA combination lock. What I immediately liked was the active work of the dials for entering numbers. Every click feels precise. It feels better than any of the combination locks on this list. I don't know what material is used but it doesn't seem to be as strong as the Master Locks. Part of this may be due to the way the castle is painted. I bought Master Lock 1535D and 653D. I end up using the 653D. The input disc is almost second compared to ORIA, but the shackle is clearly hardened steel and the body also appears to be solid metal. The 1535D feels just as sturdy as the 653D despite being finished in gloss black. But the problem lies in the combined input of dials. First, they are not accurate. You can put them in the middle between two numbers. The barrier to trading is the placement of the line where you need to align the key number. As you can see in my photo, with the lock on the case it is very difficult to get it to the scope. This lock is perfect for a gym locker, but it won't work on a gun case like mine. I hope this helps someone figure out which lock to use.
