The number one thing that drew me give this product as a gift was how easy it was to press the ignitor button and safety switch. Almost all fuel-based candle lighters that I know of require some effort to operate and can be difficult for older hands. They may exist, but number two is the novelty of the plasma arc and the ability to recharge without replacing the whole lighter (who buys replacement fuel canisters--besides me?) The safety switch is a very simple and easy slider and can even be left on. I guess that could be viewed as a negative by some people, but the ease is what I wanted to give. The recipient said that it worked well; only that short wicks could be hard to light without getting into the candle wax and that they otherwise love it so far. The battery is holding up great and I was surprised and happy to see that it had a USB-C connector. This is the connector that goes in either way, another plus for many people. The wall-end is USB-A so you need this old-style AC adapter to go with it as it is not provided (ostensibly to reduce e-waste and keep costs down).
