Came new, boxed, in perfect condition. It was listed as the factory gas cap for our 2005 4runner v6. It was bought to fix the ever popular exhaust/engine code display. It fit perfectly in the gas tank but after 3 fills the check engine light went back. So as an experiment, I went to the local auto zone and asked for the cheapest crap gas cap they would sell for our truck. Low, and lo and behold, a cheap gas cap fixed the check engine light. It's not clear why this new factory cap didn't work so I returned it. Update: A few months later, Autozone's crappy gas cap still works. When the mechanic asked why this was happening, he said the older your Toyota gets, the less it likes the factory cover. Something to do with tank pressure.
