Review on πŸ’‘ Coast HP1 190 Lumen Pure Beam Focusing LED Flashlight in Sleek Black Design: A Powerful Lighting Solution by Sean Flint

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Lantern fanatics should probably stop by.

I don't believe in using Revain as a try-and-may-be-buy service, except for their wardrobe, which they specifically invite you to. Otherwise I would return it. I've looked at so many flashlights looking for a small no hot rod flashlight with easy on/off and easy charging that I must be confused. This light is small. About the perfect size. IF you modify it with better internals (an entirely different discussion that the passive casual user doesn't need or care about). I wanted easy zoom - complete and complete with one finger. He does it. Well, actually. Except that the narrowest focus isn't quite as fully focused as it could be, despite having perfect spread. The tide is then too high to be scarcely usable except at arm's length. I'm in my 30s and my eyes are fine, this light just doesn't produce many candelas (or lumens). Why? Because it needs one AA battery to work. The battery is NOT included and I need to buy a rechargeable AA as I use the battery for a day at work which requires the purchase of a flashlight of this size. and a flashlight that is not too expensive because there is a risk that I will lose it no matter what I do, and no, a headlamp is not an option. I'm a sane adult and I know what I'm doing and what I'm achieving. If this were a little tighter in focus, didn't flood the page far when it slips out of focus, and at least had a rechargeable battery of some sort, shape or form, I'd be as happy as can be. It's so close to perfect light. And for the occasional user, or the woman who doesn't care, or the child who loses something very easily, but needs light for housework, or for evening fishing at the pond, or to get a haystack from the tool room in the room. It gets dark early which is great. The innards are held in place by one of those large diameter spools rather than a "pill" or threaded locking ring. The zoom end is NOT removable (at least not with a lot of force, which I've tried to use to set the zoom range the way I wanted it - that was a hair's breadth away!), and not the threaded zoom end. The battery cover is threaded. Nice aluminum body, thick powder coat finish, solid buildable back, decent knurling without damaging the case, high quality o-ring (and I mean QUALITY o-ring! I wish I had more of these or knew who made them!) and has a lot of nice touches of quality light and I've listed ALL the bad things about it and that's just 2 or 3 things. but only two or three things that are important to me. So close yet so far. Still - NOT BAD FOR $10.
