This rug is better than I imagined and great value for money! He immediately lay down evenly as he is a good weight. It doesn't have a grip on the back, though, so a non-slip pad is a good idea if you plan to use it in high-traffic areas for safety. There was a strong odor coming from the packaging. I left it outside under my covered porch on the day of arrival and turned it over in the middle of the day to air out both sides. The smell had died down enough that he came in and showed it off that evening. I love the weave of this rug and the striped pattern. That's great. This next "problem" doesn't bother me, but it may bother other buyers, so it's worth mentioning. The darker fabric had a more inconsistent color pattern as you can see in the attached photos. I like that there is some definition and a natural look. Can't comment on the durability of the mat as I haven't had it that long but will update if there are any issues. Very happy with my purchase!
