My original plan was to run Cat6 on some devices that I'd rather keep wireless. Unfortunately, the layout of our home made it completely impossible without tearing down the walls. I used the powerline adapter kit again, but plugging into a surge protector grounded the signal. I didn't want to run copper from the outlet to my backbone during power surges. I ended up buying this and glazing the connection from the powerline adapter to the switch. I was expecting that this might not be a perfect solution and would require a reboot from time to time, but to be honest I forgot it even existed a few days ago - it was so reliable it was an end- to-end could have been connection.
