I'll edit this when I warm it up a bit and see how many miles it can handle. As for the product itself, first impressions are very good. I had the engine and transmission from my Miata so I'm hoping to get the job done right. There is a video of a gentleman pasting one of these with the device installed and I can't imagine him sticking it out either. There are many reasons, but I think the main one is that you can't get the tunnel clean enough to ensure proper adhesion. Yes, this product is very sticky, but like any other adhesive, if you clog this surface with contaminants, it will separate from the surface and not provide proper adhesion. If you come here your car will be too hot because of the tunnel. heat most likely. Although I believe this product will work in many places. The aluminum side of this shield is similar to what I have seen on many new OEM shields. It has a cratered surface and is slightly reflective in nature. As a result, it's fairly rigid, although it flexes fairly easily. I use it on a race car (Miata) and have always found the tunnel too hot from the exhaust, especially in the summer months (I don't usually have carpet either). Hopefully it helps this season. I've attached a picture showing how mine came in. I cleaned the surface thoroughly beforehand, starting on the driver's side. By working on this and removing the adhesive backing of the product I was finally able to get it sticking the way I wanted. Please note that I have cut my product at the body creases with metal scissors to ensure I do not have bubbles where it is applied. I don't think there's any real way not to do this, at least not in the Miata Tunnel. We'll see how well this works, but I really hope this solves the overheating issue, or at least helps mitigate it. Hoping that slicing it the way I did it wouldn't ruin its overall effectiveness or make it less durable. Will be updated as it goes. [.]
