Review on High Performance Motorcraft FA-1908 Air Filter by Pedro Hague

Not sure if this is a Ford issue or not a genuine part. This "OEM replacement" will not fit, it is not the same part as the original that came with the car. 2017 Ford Escape 2.0L Turbo. You can see in the photo that the replacement is about 1/8 inch longer than the original. I know what you're thinking, a guy can't do anything 1/8" long, just push it in, it's all plastic anyway. I usually totally agree with "fitting" but maybe for the first time in her history has Ford designed something to extremely tight tolerances. You can force the filter into the airbox (I mean STRONG) but then the top vent cap won't fit. Pulled out, put original in, bingo no problem. 1/8" makes a big difference in this case .And of course I bought an air filter and saved it for later, it was an OEM item after all and with something as simple as an air filter there shouldn't be a problem.Well my subsequent use has passed the item's return date so I'm stuck now and it is only right that I "assume" anything about an item of this nature purchased from Revain. This pandemic needs to end before we can start buying where actual physical comparisons can be made.
