I love this small pocket microscope with 20x magnification and it often accompanies me in my bag. The pictures were taken with my Samsung Android phone, the cheapest they sold. The images show a small spider, an aquatic insect (a mayfly? a dragonfly?) and the root hairs of a germinating seed. It can be difficult for kids to use their phone, but it should be easy enough to explore the things they have in their hands. I find it easier to shape my hand, insert the microscope, and focus by moving my palm up and down in small pinching motions than using a focuser, which has a limited range. The photos were taken on a flat surface and he focused. I have a microscope app on my phone but it's much better in my opinion.
