Great repeat set. I use it to control a Sony Blu-Ray disc player and a Sky decoder hidden in a closet. The appearance of the receiving part in my kit differs from the picture. Instead of the IR panel pictured, mine has two LEDs embedded in the front, this may be important to some, but it's not a problem for me. By the way, one of the LEDs is a light blue indicator that confirms the activity of IR radiation when a command is sent from the remote control. Installation is very simple: you mount the controller/repeater with two screws, mount the receiver (see below for details), connect the power supply and then install the complete repeater. They will take up most of the time. I placed mine on the inside of the cabinet doors, roughly in line with the IR receivers on the hardware. Worked great the first time. I found that all cable lengths are quite long. If there is one downside to this kit, it's that the receiver comes with a thin piece of tape that doesn't look durable, and there's no other hardware to mount it. Also, the tape is oriented so you need to mount the receiver on the front of the object. If you're hiding, you're unlikely to climb it this way. I had some double sided tape at home so I cut a small strip and attached it to the top of the receiver and attached it under the front edge of the LCD TV. I used a black marker to color the edges of the double band. It should be noted that the standard power input is a transformer (wall outlet) plugged into a household outlet, but the controller also has 12V DC input terminals. If you have good installation skills and some ambition for a cheap but elegant and discreet installation, I think this kit is a good choice. Mine works just fine from 20ft in space and the sensitivity and response is amazing.
