Review on Gila Heat Shield 5% VLT Automotive Window Tint DIY Heat Control Glare Control Privacy (6In X 26In Strips) by Derek Helvie

Radiator, installation on par with other tints

bought two rolls, primarily to cool down while driving (Hawaii). One roll was enough for the CRV windscreens, the second for 5 Miata windows. 35% was ideal - noticeably cooler, light enough, night vision does not deteriorate. However, the installation turned out to be a bit more difficult. After watching a YouTube video I installed it using a mixture of water and baby soap. Steps: 1. Clean the interior and exterior windows.2. Wipe the windows with a mop, wipe with a microfiber cloth.3. Place the tint on the outside window and trim.4. Remove sticky glue from tint.5. Apply plenty of water + baby soap to the inner window.6. Remove the tint from the outer lens and insert it into the inner lens.7. Squeeze out air bubbles. It was necessary to remove the door, I think over time the tint can peel off the glass after repeated rolling / rolling (although it hasn't passed in a month). Also spray plenty of liquid. Without them, the paint is difficult to move, air bubbles can form. There were several on my first window, none on the following ones. I deducted a star for the warped packaging and the tinting. I had a little more so I didn't use the most wrinkly parts.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • so far so good
