Review on Metal Bike Motorcycle Mount Unbreakable by Darius Glatzel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The bracket is made of aluminum and the housing is made of plastic.

I just received the mount and will be keeping it for at least a week but am considering returning it due to construction work. As another reviewer said, the base is aluminum. This was important to me as my Arkon ball mount, which seemed to be made out of a pretty good material, broke after a couple of seasons of use after putting my helmet and jacket on it (not often and not much strain on the mount ). ). ). So the base is pretty good, but I would have preferred a Phillips head screw to attach it to the handlebars instead of a plastic allen wrench. However, the HOLDER is made of plastic. For that money I would really wish the holder and its tension ring were also metal with a nylon or rubber liner (since the holder has to slide over the ball somehow). There were no instructions either, but there was a round piece of silicone that I have no idea how to use. Addendum August 2020 Can not recommend and deduct stars. As I was driving on the ring road, my cell phone flew out of its holder and I couldn't get it. When using this mount, USE SILICONE STRAPS as the tension clip may CLOSE. It wasn't just because the phone wasn't fully inserted into the clamp, a hard enough hit or constant vibration weakened the phone. Looking at the mount after stopping and looking for my phone, I found that the clip was *stuck in the open position*. So yes, you should use seat belts - not only as a fallback option for the clamp, but also because the clamp can fail.
