I have an exterior door with hinge pins that are stuck that I can't move normally. The lining sticks out, so there isn't much room. I sprayed and left WD-40 on but it still didn't help. Decided to try this. Arrived the next day. It's a very hard plastic that sits around the hinge and I made sure the tool's pin was lined up with the hinge pin when the hinge was pressed. I was able to score the bottom of the tool without worrying too much about trimming. However, I could not move the pivot. I've gradually increased the hammer blow with no luck. Since the other pivot was also stuck, I tried that one too. A hard hit with a hammer and the pin on the tool broke off at the base (as others have noted). It was easy to return as defective. I think this would be a great tool for most cases (if you build a lot of doors or find tapping the pins uncomfortable or too unstable). I've always used an old screwdriver and it works great, but this tool makes the simple job even easier. However, if you have a hinge pin stuck, the pin on this tool is not strong enough when you have to hit hard with a hammer.
