Review on Dremel MM500 1/8-Inch Multi-Max Carbide Grout πŸ”§ Blade: Optimal for Grout Removal, with Durable Gold Coating by Albert Bohimia

very efficient, good tool

It's not a fun tool like a chainsaw, but it gets the job done. I was removing grout on a 24 sq ft bathroom shower screen between 4"x4" tiles at 3:00 p.m. (with kids and work, find time to work whenever you can). It's small tiles, so the task was tedious, and the Dremmel, as you probably know, is noisy - and its dusty work in a fairly cramped space so the job isn't fun. But our old grout cracked in places and allowed water to seep through the tiles so this had to be done. The 1/16" blade got between the tiles fairly well and our grout lines were very thin - in many places it eroded the edges of the tile a bit, but even those spots look great and held new grout with no problem. Inspection of the blade even after work shows no wear. I would imagine this grout removal blade would survive the Dremmel itself and could easily handle more work than our humble bathroom walls. If you have old, thin grout lines and it's time to touch them up, this is the tool for you. New drywall needed to be installed, so this project turned out to be a little bigger than I had hoped, but that's what I expected. So this project looked great, the gouge blade saved me a lot of time compared to taking it off by hand. I'm guessing a tiler would charge us about $500 for the entire job, and I spent about $100 on grout, mortar, drywall, etc. (it took about 4 business days here), so overall there's a few bucks that I can reinvest in another project - homeowners know they never run out!
