Use this product at your own risk. The good news is that it works. Bad news: It works too well. The design is such that if it ever gets stuck, there is no way to pull it off. If there was an emergency, like a fire or a health problem, it wouldn't be a happy ending. As it stands the apartments I live in are older and as such the doors and frames are not mathematically accurate. The problem is that this device is designed with zero tolerances and zero emergency removal methods. What happened is I used the device as instructed, but due to the imperfection of my door it got stuck permanently after closing the door as there was no gap for the door latch to disengage from the metal insert. I had to get to the repair team, physically remove the door handle assembly, and knock the unit out with a hammer and chisel. I now have a new doorknob, but at least the jamb is undamaged. Needless to say the unit itself is broken now, at this point I won't even bother asking for a refund, the thing goes straight into the bin where it can hang around as long as it likes.
