Review on Cardone 1R-2352 Master Cylinder Reservoir - Brand New for Optimal Performance by Abdirahman Elmer

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I wish they sold the bushings separately

Rubber seals between master cylinder and reservoir on my Dodge Ram 96 where the leak is and instead of replacing the whole MC, bleeding the brakes etc I decided to try to give it Simply replace the reservoir and seals to avoid all of this. The good news is you can remove the original reservoir/seals and install a new one without opening up the system or bleeding the brakes. Not good news - far from it. The quality of the plastic is like the original. To install I had to remove the gaskets and first install them in my master, then install the tank. The problem was that the new tank's plastic is so malleable that it just flexed instead of going in (it takes a fair amount of force to get it in place). I ended up using the new rubber gaskets and lid gasket from this unit and reusing the original tank and lid. A good product if you just need gaskets and don't want to worry about changing the master and bleeding the brakes, but rather basic, but oil seals for a few bucks as the whole part I don't really need.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
