Better than the cheap ones Walmart sells but not by much. This is not stainless steel. Only the wire and roller guide are made of stainless steel. The body and handle are made of zinc alloy, which turns black when washed in the dishwasher. The adjustable roller guide still wobbles from side to side, creating uneven slices no matter how hard you tighten the handle, requiring you to hold it with your thumb during use. The old ones from my childhood weren't made of stainless steel either, but aluminum. But they managed to stay the way you hired them. And cut straight. I don't like it, but I haven't found a better one yet.
