Review on Banks 42142 Ram Intake System by Jay Koterba

Banks Ram Air Works

Some people will tell you that this system is no better than any other cold air intake system. I think it's really important. I installed mine on a 2007 Duramax LBZ and I have to tell you the motor ran with a lot less effort than it did half an hour ago. It climbs a 1 1/2 mile hill that I climb everyday with less engine workload. On the freeway on the ramps the engine revs faster and revs seem smoother and once I got up to my cruising speed it just stabilized and revs dropped and it just seemed to run and purr effortlessly. I have installed this system on several of my previous trucks and have noticed a difference in each one. I wish they were a little cheaper, yes, but I remember gas at 0.33 cents a gallon when I was a kid. So yes I would recommend this product to anyone with diesel fuel. I recently towed my stock 4 Angus head trailer with this kit installed with no other mods installed and it pulls better. It's hard to describe "pull better" if you don't know your truck, but I know mine and I'm satisfied. I don't spend money on things that don't work. I'm glad I spent the money on another excellent Banks system.
