This tool is all metal (unlike the Kreg which is plastic with metal drill guides). I've personally never tried a Kreg device, so I can't attest to its quality. The General Pocket Hole Jig is strong, light weight and comes with a template, step drill bit, several screws and a Robertson bit (square drive) to drive the screws. You can buy countersunk screws from a variety of stores (make sure you buy countersunk screws as they are specifically designed for this type of project). There are two holes on the bottom of the bracket for attaching to a work surface or board for added stability. I recommend watching videos online (there are several) to get an idea of how to properly use the tool. The connections this tool makes are very strong. Great price, great quality.
