I rented a 12ft U-trailer for commuting and even when loaded it tended to make a lot of noise to do, and you could feel it twitching around your back. I bought a hitch tensioner which helped but didn't eliminate the constant shaking and noise in the rear when the trailer hits bumps. For my next ride I'll be doing 1400 miles on another 16ft run and don't expect the same experience. I bought the rockerball which not only made the trailer quieter but also eliminated the wobbling and jerking. I hardly noticed the trailer behind my X5. Worth every penny!
