Ideal for energy monitoring!

Well, first off, this device was a fairly expensive way of finding out that our teen watches TV after bedtime, which explains the constant tiredness. I hated resorting to this but problem solved! The installation itself is very easy if you have Apple products and are using Homekit. Download the Eve app for Homekit (the instructions are a bit outdated and may indicate the outdated Eve app for iOS), enter the 8-digit code that's on the product and you're done. The app is similar to the Apple Home app and you can use it instead of controlling lights (also not owned by Eve) and other devices you might have. To be honest, it's so simple I have no idea how it even works that smoothly - I'm assuming it communicates with my Apple TV (which acts as a hub) via Bluetooth because I'm getting data from my phone can view and control while on the go from home over an LTE network. The plug can be unplugged from the app, and you can also get daily/hourly/weekly/monthly energy consumption information. The data is stored on the device (tech support says it can be stored for 2-3 weeks, but when you open the application the data is transferred to your phone and stays there as long as you have the application). Additionally, you have the ability to set a schedule/timer to turn devices on and off. So, once I set it up, I hooked it up to the child's room TV extension and got all the information I needed about what really happens after the child said goodnight. (photo included)
