I am a home welder/hobbyist and for many years I had a standard wide field of view welding helmet that did not have auto darkening and required me to manually raise and lower the mask. I thought this helmet would be a great addition to my hobby but after 2 days of use I will be returning the Yeswelder auto-dimming helmet and going back to my manual helmet due to UV burns to my eyes. I used an auto-darkening helmet while repairing and modifying my trailer, which took a total of about 5 hours (spread over 2 days) for arc welding 1/8" carbon steel. After the second day, when I went to bed, my eyes were very watery and my eyelids were sandpapered in. I'm pretty sure the helmet was adjusted correctly so the only thing I thought was causing the burns was the light coming through the side lens. The Yeswelder helmet is really light and quite comfortable to wear and I really liked the auto darkening feature but not at the expense of my vision.Update: About a day after this review was posted the seller contacted me and said that they would refund the purchase price of the Helms would refund and send me their best selling helmet without side windows for free. They didn't want the helmet with side windows closed return. This happened before I could request a refund. They contacted me several times through Revain after I received a new helmet to review the situation. Make sure my eyes are ok and make sure I'm happy with the deal. Although my eyes were burned and quite sore, I seriously doubt they were intentionally malicious and overall I am impressed with their level of care and customer service.
