Review on 🚚 Truck Bed Tent with Front Awning, Ideal for 6.5' Box Length by Brian Martin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It assembles quickly and holds up well at low temperatures!

It was very easy and quick to assemble and fit into the bed of my truck. I bought a Granville II with a 6.5ft canopy and it fit perfectly. Before the tent arrived I watched the assembly video on the Granville website which was very helpful as it recommended setting up the tent on the ground and then having 2 people lift it into a truck. I recommend putting on a raincoat while it's on the ground as that becomes quite a challenge in a pickup truck. I learned this the hard way doing a test setup in my driveway a week before camping. My girlfriend helped me lift the tent onto the truck and then had to leave and despite my best efforts on my own with stools and ladders I couldn't let the rain fly all over the tent. Eventually I gave up, but not before losing my balance as I walked through the back door and ended up breaking the canopy support post. Incidentally, I contacted Off Roading Gear (the sellers of my Granville II) and John, my service rep, was incredibly helpful in my search for a replacement canopy. In the end he created a trouble ticket for me, did magic and sent me a new rod in the mail a few days later. Incredibly helpful, thanks John! This tent is very easy to pitch and even easier if you do a trial pitch at home before you go camping. Our set up time at the campsite took maybe 10 minutes (again I recommend putting your raincoat on the ground). We camped in the mountains of South Carolina over Veteran's Day weekend and temperatures dropped into the 30's overnight. Knowing the forecast before our weekend, we decided against buying a propane heater and opted for a sleeping bag and blanket combo. We also purchased a Pittman Outdoors AirBedz Lite PPI PV202C 6ft to 6.5ft Short Full Size Airbed with Wired DC Pump (76" x 63" x 12") Full Size Green Beds and it fits perfectly (no gaps in my truck) F-150 2021. I put a moveable blanket under the airbed and another under the sheet to protect us from the cold air that would build up in the airbed, it worked great , we never felt any discomfort from the cold air mattress. Even with the cool night air, Granville II kept the inside temperature perfect. Apparently moisture had accumulated inside the tent (but nothing bad) and at night the temperature inside the tent stayed very comfortable.. I would I can Recommend Granville II to everyone and we are already planning our second hike with it after the holidays I hope this and my photos will be of help to anyone considering this product Happy Cam ping place for you all!
