Review on πŸ•°οΈ Highest Quality Howard Miller Redford Mantel Clock 635-123 – Exquisite Windsor Cherry Design with Precise Quartz Movement and Single-Chime by Chad Guinn

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Decent but overpriced.

The clock looks very nice. It presents itself well and cuts a fine figure everywhere. The bezel and bezel have a classic design that's easy to read, although the front is tilted slightly to the left on what I got (it's not that noticeable unless you look closely). However, the hourly signal is good, it is a very low quality sound that will remind you of the sound of video games from the 1980s. The volume is adjustable so it's audible across most of the home's ground floor (1,200 square feet) without being obnoxious. If you pick up the watch and examine it closely, you will see that it is a cheap foreign product. The only country of origin I can find is the electronics showing it was made in Taiwan. The quality control seems pretty good as it's well 'presented', but if you pick it up and examine it closely you'll find that it feels very light and artificial, almost plastic. "Wood” is like fiberboard covered with veneer. As someone who has lived and bought furniture abroad I can tell you with certainty that the mark up for this is quite high as you could buy it abroad for a lot less. I almost returned it as I felt the price was too high for the quality of the product. However, it was a gift and I knew the recipient would love it. If I were to buy it for myself I would return it for the price and quality. It's not even close to worth the $169 I paid for it.
