Review on ๐Ÿ”ง RS5000 Series Shock - Rancho RS5233 by Anthony Shepherd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ok but why no installation instructions

Bought these shocks for my 2003 F150 with over 120,000 miles. They were fairly easy to install, but removing them was more difficult than installing them. The crazy thing is that I couldn't find any instructions in or on the box, even after going to the Rancho website the installation instructions are no longer there. This is mostly self-explanatory though, the only thing is that the dampers don't seem to have any stress on the piston so they can be disassembled by hand. And after reading some internet forums for a few minutes, I found that this is normal. Therefore, when installing, simply push the piston out by hand so that it stretches long enough to install. Again, I couldn't find any instructions so I tried to reproduce how my OEM shocks were installed in terms of installing the nuts and bolts. Tires My truck runs smoothly! I gave it 4 stars out of 5 because again there are no instructions and this can be confusing to a non-vehicle person, but then again these people usually pay someone to do this type of work. Also, the rating reflects how the piston bushing sits as it is only secured with a cheap plastic zip tie. So it will likely need to be replaced quite often. But overall a good product at a reasonable price :)
