It's probably no more than 3000 grit max. Its binder is very bad, so it loses a lot of mass to the slurry, which in combination with the much coarser grit cuts too quickly. It also leads to incredibly fast wear, resulting in a poor lifespan. You *can* get a mirror finish if you're very careful. This stone also has a TERRIBLE finish. I could probably cut it just as smoothly on a 32t/d bandsaw.
