I use this crackle paste in many of my mixed media texture panels. I love that you can vary the depth of the crackle to create different effects. I apply it from a jar, let it dry and then paint. The paint seeps into the cracks. I use paints of different viscosities and applicators (from brushes to sponges) to paint over the dried craquelure surface. Liquid acrylic paints, acrylic paints and soft body paints create a spectacular look. (1st image shows my various textures applied to the canvas, crackle paste makes up most of the background surrounding the cat painting; 2nd image shows the first layer of paint applied to the background of the cat painting) In case you wondering, the cat picture is created with fiber paste.
