I bought this carbide hole saw to cut lock holes in a 1/4 inch panel reinforcing my shop door after thieves tried to break it in. In my application it worked perfectly. I used a variable speed magnetic drill and plenty of cutting fluid. I cut 12 holes for 6 locks in the steel reinforcement plates and another 12 in the 18 gauge door stock and the tooling was like new. It leaves a small burr on the bottom of the hole that I can easily remove with a rotary deburring tool. It leaves nice smooth edges on the hole, better than traditional hole saws and with little run out. Unlike most hole saws that cut oversized, this one cuts very close to the advertised size. I wouldn't recommend using it with a metal hand drill and most home drills spin too fast for a bit this diameter. I used it in the 150rpm range.
