Review on Scotch-Brite Non-Scratch Scrub Sponges - Ideal for Dishwashing and Kitchen Cleaning, Pack of 9 Sponges by Julie Weigel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They tend to crumble if kept damp for weeks and wrinkle if kept dry (after use)

I gave them more than one star for absorbency and durability because while these sponges are miserably disappointing in those qualities, as far as I can tell all sponges on the market are the same. You would expect a sponge to absorb a small amount, say 1/4 cup, of liquid in one rub, but that never really happens, you always have to tap it multiple times and then eventually ruin the towel. There's almost no point in reaching for a smelly sponge. Then ^(&(^% things rot, crumble and/or shrink too quickly. The landfill should be full of it. The cleaner in the back seems willing if it would be regular cooking leftovers (like some oatmeal foam ), but useless if you're having a total bachelor chef apocalypse. In general, these sponges won't do the trick in your kitchen, you still need drawers full of absorbent rags, carbide brushes and Brillo sponges, sandblasters, rag wipers, shop vacuums, etc. (A shop vacuum is good for picking up sponge crumbs as the sponge enters its shedding phase.) I gave the sponge a 5* for smell because at least it doesn't come out of a filled plastic bag with a "smell" but as you know it will take in a lot of stench in his meager life.
