These items are NOT HARDENED. Flattened on first use. I very carefully transferred six holes in very soft hot rolled steel and at the end of the six holes the tip was completely flat. flat after one use. I'm very gentle with my carry punches. I use very light tapping and always use a brass hammer whenever I move. These transfers are nonsense. Unless you only work with aluminum, don't buy them. Update: it seems that most of them are somewhat hardened, some are not. 17/32 held after more than 20 transitions to the same mild steel. Both 9/32 and 11/32 immediately mushroomed and lost their top spot.
