Review on ๐Ÿง€ Reston Lloyd Multi Purpose Grater: 3 Stainless Steel Barrels, Suction Base, White - Efficient Kitchen Tool! by Ruth Haiar

I wanted to fall in love - now I love

I really liked this - the first time I used it to grate a lot of cheese - it worked like a charm. The suction kept the grater on the counter well. It's hard work and I got a massive batch of cheese pretty darn fast. Then why two stars? The handle screws clockwise onto the cylinder. You rub by turning the handle clockwise. The torque pushes the handle tighter and harder against the cylindrical grater. So tight I can't take it off. I've tried using one of those rubber washers I use to open jars to hold the grater still so I can turn the handle counter-clockwise. Vain. I managed to clean it - sort of - it would be pretty easy to clean if I could take it apart. So if you're a person with a lot of arm and hand strength that would be great - incredible even - but I can't call a jack of all trades every time I need to use a grater. If you have strength issues - arthritis in your hands etc - this may not be for you. I am so disappointed. I was looking for the perfect non-electric grater and thought this would be it. Update 04/16/2018 - I figured out how to unscrew the knob. As I rub, I step back a few times to release the grip in the center of the beam. If it's too tight, I put in some hard parmesan and turn it back, pressing down firmly on the parmesan. My biggest regret is that I bent the friction drum when trying to unlock it after the first use - update 08/15/2018. I emailed the company about a curved grater. They sent me a new one at a very low price.
