I had cheap, skinny cables, they always seemed ok. Was told to get heavier ones. These seem decently heavier, definitely the gauge number is heavy (don't really have an accurate way to check the gauge). Haven't needed them for a long time (sat in cab of truck). Finally needed a jump, and wow, do these work almost instantly. I've never had a jump start that fast. They even come with a cinch sack and work gloves. Very tidy. One odd thing? The clamp jaws are not just teeth, they seem to fit great on a cylindrical post. If you flip them over, the teeth can bite better on non-cylindrical bolts/nuts. The first time I tried I got no connection. Otherwise very impressed.
