Our original remote control has disappeared, so I bought it as a replacement. Initially, we tried using the Roku remote app on our phones. The problem with the app is that you can't turn on the TV from the app because the TV needs to be on the same Wi-Fi network as your phone, so you have to turn it on manually. If you're just using the app on your phone and your phone rings, you'll need to put the call on speakerphone after answering and then go back to the app on your phone to pause or mute the TV. Arrived in a mailing envelope - easy to open. Automatically syncs with tcl roku tv. I didn't have to do anything to sync the remote control. Works exactly like the remote control that came with the TV. No complaints and no problems. There's still a Netflix button! I recommend this remote control. Update: The remote still works great.
