Review on πŸ”¦ Soft Digits 2-Pack Rechargeable LED Headlamp - 1100 Lumens, Waterproof, Motion Sensor, 8 Modes - Perfect for Camping, Fishing, and Outdoor Activities by Payton Stovall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

There are some flaws, but overall a steal.

Great headlamp for the price. The lamp is powerful, including red, which is very useful. I won't need all eight modes of operation, but I see how they can be useful. For notes: two buttons at the top, each toggling a different list of modes. Pressing the key in one of the modes switches to the first mode from the list of pressed keys. Right button1 - White spotlight, strong2 - White spotlight, dimmer3 - White spotlight, strong4 - White spotlight, dimmer5 - Red spotlight, strong6 - Red spotlight, strong and flashing. In mode 7 or 8, a green LED on the right side of the lamp indicates that you are in one of the modes controlled by the sensor. When charging (normal micro USB cable and 5V) or switching on the lamp, the battery level is indicated on four blue LEDs to the left of the lamp. What I use the most: Mostly a red headlight as it allows me to walk around at night without affecting my night vision if I underestimate the time it takes me to walk back. Also a white spotlight when working under the sink ;) What I would improve: - The sluggishness of the click holding the flashlight at an angle on the forehead: it's a little weak and sometimes a heavy step or stumble is enough to change the angle - certainly not a showstopper. - Add a darker red light beam to the right button list to save energy. - Turn off the battery level indicator a few seconds after pressing any button as this will drain the battery and blue LEDs will disable night vision. - I would like to have a strong red, the light flow is controlled by the sensor, but I suspect that the red light is interfering with the sensor. Spring. Also see below. - Modify the software so that if the user left the headlamp on in a certain mode for more than 30 seconds or a minute, pressing the button toggles the light on and off without changing the mode. I have another headlamp that works the same way and is very useful. The above can be partially achieved with touch-controlled modes, which I find useful in certain circumstances. However, a branch at head height when hiking, reading a book or map, etc. will turn off the lamp. In the end, since they're already willing to put two buttons, I'd prefer a button for mode selection. and one to turn the light on or off. Then they could do without the green mode indicator. I did not test the IP rating - I protect it from the rain as much as possible. Still one of the best little headlamps I've owned.
