The wood looks high quality and doesn't smell bad, so I'm inclined to think it's really natural. I haven't cooked with it yet. My concern is seen in my photos that they look poor quality. I washed them and quickly found that the wood had small fluffy wood hairs. The cutting board is small. The spatula worries me the most. I ran the sponge over him and he ripped off pieces of the sponge. It's far from a smooth surface. There were no problems at all with the pliers. I might have to throw the spatula away. I think a cutting board will suffice until those fluffs end up in my food.
