This is the ideal tool for fastening cylindrical or irregular objects. It has a locking mechanism and is easy to use. While not a ratchet, it features a thumb adjustment to pull items together after the chain is engaged. All in all a great tool at a great price. And I've probably looked at at least a dozen Monster and Master instruments and can't think of one that didn't disappoint. It's no different. It's like someone at M&M is taking vulnerabilities and details from other products and then incorporating them into the design. That's rare to find and it's nice to see a company that focuses on quality.
