We were given this to test the water coming out of our taps due to the color it can be at times and we just wanted to be sure. The more I read the instructions the better I thought this is good for the pools we have too. We clean and add our own chemicals and it's a lot easier than with strips. Not to mention that we don't have to buy these strips all the time. The readings he gives us broadly agree with what those strips told us. In fact, we did a head-to-head comparison and the results were the same. To verify this, we disabled this digital reader and added the recommended amount of chlorine. After a while we checked the water with a digital meter and a test strip, again we got the same readings. It's that easy to use. Simply dip the tip of the reader into the water and press the button. Reading is almost instantaneous. We actually had to redo some of the whistles but without this reader we wouldn't know what's going on. Was really handy and now we use it for the pool.
