The builders of my attic apartment installed the ceiling fan unit incorrectly on the sloping roof. The screw holes that attach the fan mount to the box are at 11 and 5 o'clock (should be at 9 and 3 o'clock) so the hanging ball never sits properly in the mount. The result is lots of clicks, ticks, and sometimes even bumps at random times. As an attic, I couldn't fix this without removing part of the ceiling (the popcorn) and reinstalling the box. This unit comes with a mounting plate and a rotating mounting bracket so the hanging ball sits securely in the mounting bracket.
