So I immediately understand that this item is not a heavy bag but rather a reflective bag, so comparing it to a heavy bag is a bit silly. I also understand that this is a stand alone bag and is therefore inherently unstable. When you actually take pictures, especially with hooks, it's not hanging from a fixed point so something is moving. With these two points, let's talk about the use cases and aspects of the bag that I like/dislike. I have a heavy bag at my house and my girlfriend isn't tall enough to hold pillows for me, 6ft 1 just a few pounds south of 200lbs right now. Was here two days after ordering which was a welcome surprise and literally took me 5 minutes to assemble and maybe 10 minutes to fill with water. From the moment I opened the package to the moment I laced up the gloves it took about 20-30 minutes, very easy installation, I would be amazed if you struggled with it. The holes for filling bags are small, but the hose I have has a small nozzle so I had no problems, although I accidentally sprayed myself a few times. I can see where filling with sand can be painful, but that hasn't been my experience since filling with water. I think now that I've set it up I would have preferred to use sand instead as the lid didn't feel airtight and I noticed water leaking out when I tilted the base on its side. Not perfect but I mean I've never used a standalone bag that didn't have this problem, one of the reasons I don't really like these types of bags, but there isn't a gym yet so I have to. The bag itself isn't hard, and in this case it works, as it wobbles quite a bit if you flick it well, feels really good if you catch it flush, and offers enough drag to land really safely. Not too light, but light enough that I don't have to worry about pinching my wrist when the bag is turned towards me. I'm not sure if anyone else was that dumb, but a few weeks ago I was working on one of these water sacks, trying to throw combos at the very end of the range, but I underestimated it and throwing the jab at the sack was bobbing. back to me. I ended up hyperextending my arm due to misjudging the distance and my hyperextended arm was immediately pinched by a 75lb water bag which made the next few laps a bit uncomfortable but that's not the case here. I mean, can you accidentally stretch your arm too far by missing the bag with a jab or a straight? Yes, and I have, but the bag wobbling in my overstretched hand wasn't a problem. Also, my overreaching isn't a problem with the bag, it's a matter of me missing and throwing at full extension, as most of you know it's just poor technique on my part. IM working on it. I want a full stretch, not a hyper-extension, but gosh I really didn't want to tag this bag as it was flying around, it's really addicting. technical hooks, you won't have any problems, it's just that if you really put some power into your hooks you can rock the base a bit. In these cases, I noticed some water leaking out of the bag onto the floor, which I didn't like. Creating a slippery surface around the bag, I put mine in the garage with no mats, still made the effort to reach out to those who aren't yet sure it's worth the investment if the gym doesn't close for a few more months is, but we'll see how this thing plays out with COVID. To be honest this is the only real grip I have with this bag and as I said before this is a common problem with pretty much all stand alone bags. They're generally not very good at staying stable on high power shots and all have leakage issues when you fill them with water, at least in my experience. Will this bag be my favorite bag? Probably not as I have a special place in my heart for an aqua bag at my gym, I love the versatility in terms of the angles you can use with these things. I will say that this bag was a pleasant surprise for me. It was a lot of fun to get into a rhythm with, had enough feedback/resistance for me to land harder shots, and was very easy to set up and move around with. Can I recommend it for the gym? No, just get a double end bag, you don't need such a hybrid gym bag as long as you have a bag stand to hang some heavy bags and a double end bag. And at home, especially when the gyms are closed? This thing is a good choice. Not crazy about the price when I'm still trying this default instability and leaking freestanding pouch traps, but if you can take $300 I'd pull the trigger. Lots of fun, allows you to practice timing/aiming, and offers a middle ground between a separate Heavy Bag and a Cobra Bag. I'm happy with it but can't wait to get back to my water bag in the corner of the gym. It will remain a staple of my boxing job but will not replace my water bag, although I'm not sure it should always be. It makes an excellent supplement/home bag, a solid choice for novice and intermediate boxers alike. Okay, wait a minute, if you're an avid boxer with a heavy bag at home and want something to train your reflexes, I wouldn't do it. . I would buy a double ended bag if you have a rack, a Cobra bag if you can't hang the double end, or one of those headbands with an attached ball if you're short on money. All of these options are a lot cheaper than this bag and essentially do the same thing. Hope this helps, and if you skipped to the end because you don't want to read this super long essay, here's the basic synopsis: This is a standalone bag that suffers from the typical problems with standalone bags. Not always the most stable and can be prone to water leakage from the base. The bag itself feels good, is responsive, and is freaking fun to chase combos. It's worth it if you don't have other hanging options available, although there are cheaper ways to achieve the same goal if you have the ability to hang bags. End of story if you can hang something do it instead, if you can't this is a fantastic product that I am having a lot of fun with.
